The Zynx cards are now installed and working.
First I had to boot to a bootable USB drive and run the w2kfix.exe file located on the Zynx website ( Located here). According to the PDF “This will probe the PCI bus and find any ZNYX Networks multi-port adapters and change the SROM for use by the DEC/Intel driver. It does not change any of the capabilities of the Ethernet adapter.”
Next I booted into Vista and it detected the new Ethernet adpters, however Vista did not have the correct drive. Another fast search on Google and I found a driver that worked ( http://7200emu.hacki.at/viewtopic.php?t=6345&sid=06ed777bc740470a23041c8e84e2e09d ). According to the post “It’s an HP driver, but the chipset is the same. I did get the typical popup warning about an unsigned driver but I haven’t had any issues with the card.”. I used this driver and everything loaded up fine.
The first thing I noticed after getting the cards installed was how long Vista took to boot. Since I do not need IP Addresses assigned to the ports, I am just bridging the ports to real switches in Dynamips, I removed the IPv4 and IPv6 bindings to the connections. This improved boot time greatly.
Also I was unable to get a link light from any of my Zynx adapter ports to my switches. To fix this I set the speed and duplex in the Ethernet driver to 100 full duplex. After a reboot, might not be required, the links came on just fine.
Next I will start setting up Dynamips to connect to the ports and get my Lab setup. Stay tuned!

can you specify if it’s 32 or 64 bit MS? I take it you got it to work in 32-bit Vista. How about 64 bit 2003, 2008 and Vista? What HP NIC model is the same match as the Zynx ZX346Q? Thanks
I have only been able to get this driver to work on 32bit Vista. I have tried 64bit Vista however after hours of playing with drivers and .ini files I was not able to make it work.
What HP NIC model is the same match as the Zynx ZX346Q? Thanks
Sorry I am not sure. I was not the one who originally found the driver. You might be able to look in the OEMSETNT.ini file and find a hint in there.
I love Google Voice. There SMS feature actually got me into it. I can send out free text messages to Bangladesh, India, and USA. It saves me good money on my texting program from Verizon Wireless because I can use that to send now. I think Google always does a good job of giving customers what they want and need. I have found in the future they are mixing Voice with the Android. Plus they bought a new VoIP company which they will incorporate with the other two to give some outstanding features. I need to get me a Androind now haha.
